Despereaux's Castle

This one is probably one of my favorites. This was done for the son of one of my church leaders: Melinda. At the time, the movie The Tale of Despereaux had just come out, and her son was pretty excited about it.

So since the theme of the party would be kings, knights, and medieval festivities, she asked me if a castle cake would be possible. And here is the result.

Note: the four corner towers are made of twinkies. Also, those little stones all over the castle are candy stones. The mice, cannon, and the tops of the walls are made with fondant. The cannon was made by my brother, I promised him credit for being the one to make it. So there it is bro. :)
